City traffic and regional bus traffic in Halmstad is run by Hallandstrafiken, which places orders with private companies that drive the buses. Today it’s Arriva that drives the buses in both the city traffic and regional bus traffic.

Hallandstrafiken will answer questions concerning ticket prices, timetables, bus routes etc. This information can also be found at Hallandstrafiken's websiteexternal link or by contacting Hallandstrafiken’s customer services on: 0771-33 10 30.

Hallandstrafiken is planning to propose what bus traffic should be provided in Halmstad. Halmstad municipal council decides at the start of every year what changes to make to the next timetable.

Halmstad is also a stopping point for some long-distance coaches. These will take you to Copenhagen, Göteborg, Oslo and Stockholm. For more information visit Swebus' websiteexternal link.

Halmstad’s future travel centre

There is currently a city bus terminal (Österskans), a regional bus terminal (Norra station) and a train station in Halmstad. Halmstad municipal council is planning for a new general site to change buses or trains, Halmstad’s resecentrum (travel centre). The plans for Halmstad’s travel centre will be available for public scrutiny on 9 April 2010.
